Our firm is investigating the massive discharge of coal ash from a coal ash impoundment at the Tennessee Valley Authority (“TVA”) operated Kingston Fossil Plant located in Roane County, Tennessee. Due to the violations of federal environmental laws and the endangerment to health and the environment from the coal ash spill, we have already served notice of legal action against TVA for claims based on the Federal Clean Water Act and the Federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act on behalf of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (“SACE”), a nonprofit environmental group based in Knoxville. See the press release and notice documents below:
In addition to these violations of environmental laws, it is clear that affected property owners have suffered and will suffer property damages and other damages as a result of this environmental disaster. If your property has been impacted by the coal ash sludge, we are willing to investigate your damages and pursue claims on your behalf if warranted. These damage claims can be pursued together with the violations of environmental laws by TVA. We have staff located in Knoxville, and we will meet with you at your property to assess your claims and perform any necessary sampling and analysis of your soil and water.
